ENERKE has developed technology to capture CO2 from oxy-fuel combustion, where pure oxygen or oxygen-enriched air is used instead of regular air as the combustion medium for fossil fuels. The combustion byproducts mainly consist of carbon dioxide and water vapor, along with excess oxygen to ensure complete combustion, as well as inert components from the fuel or any leaks entering the system. After cooling and condensing the water vapor, the CO2 concentration in the flue gas ranges from 80% to 98%. This high-concentration CO2 can then be compressed, dried, and further purified for storage in pipelines.
